Almost everytime I play Audible books through the browser, the app doesn't sync it to the position I stopped in the browser, often staying at the same time it was before the browser session. I already tried to sync through the Library menu on the app but it doesn't work. Anyone have the same issue and know how to fix it?
Audible books are available for multiple devices, such as Android, iOS, PC, Mac, Kindle, Alexa, and more. So a lot of users love to use different devices to listen to the audiobooks. However, there exists a troubling issue - the Audible books are not syncing the playback position across devices. You have to remember to check the timestamp whenever you stop listening on one device to manually fast-forward to that point when you start on another. Don't worry, here are some steps that will help you fix the issue of Audible not syncing.
Step 1. Confirm Whispersync for Voice is enabled
Whispersync for Voice is a feature of Audible that allows you to sync your playback position and bookmarks automatically across different devices that support this feature. Therefore, if your Audible books are not syncing, the first thing you need to do is to verify that this feature is enabled.
Go to the Amazon page "Manage Your Content and Devices and sign in with your Amazon Audible account>> Click the "Preferences" tab >> Select "Device Synchronization (Whispersync Settings)" and confirm that the feature is turned ON.
Step 2. Manually sync the position in the Audible for Android/iOS app
If you've already enabled the Whispersync for Voice but your Audible books are still not syncing, try to manually sync them. Here we'll take Audible app for Android/iOS devices as an example to show how to turn on this feature manually.
1. Connect your device to a wireless Internet connection.
2. Tap Profile.
3. Tap the Gear icon at the upper right hand corner.
4. Tap Player.
5. Scroll down and then toggle the Sync Device Position slider off and then on.
Step 3. Check whether the network is connected or not
To allow automatic or manual syncing, you need to confirm that your device is connected to a stable wireless network. If the WIFI is connected, disconnect it and then reconnect. If not, the syncing process will be influenced.
Step 4. Verify you've signed your different devices with the same Audible account
Only by signing to the same Audible account can your Audible devices be synced successfully. So if have several Audible accounts, you must verify your devices are logged in with the same account. If not, change them to keep consistent.
Step 5. Restart your Audible app or devices
This is a common solution to help you fix most of your problem for audible syncing or downloading. Just close the Audible app or any Audible devices, and then restart it.
Step 6. Reinstall your Audible app
If you tried the above solutions and none of them are working, try to reinstall the Audible app. There might be some problems with the Audible app, or it's not updated to the latest version. Delete the Audible app from your device, and then download the latest version of Audible app from the App Store, Google Play Store or Audible official site. After reinstalling the Audible app, it's better to restart the device to fix the issue thoroughly.
Step 7. Contact Audible support
