Be careful with Balabolka because it is made by a Russian programmer.

This software may be made by a Russian, is that all you have against it? It's has been one of the best for a long time and is avail. is all languages. No one has had that sort of issue.  Seriously need ppl to get their national paranoia and political posturing nonsense out of this software arena and on the conspiracy sites where it belongs.

I am an IT expert and the advise to be careful with Russian programs is definitively not a stupidity; some backdoors could potentially be requested by the Russian government to be set in the program, so it can gather all the data read by the user.

I tried Balbolka and when it works, it does a nice job.  But there are voices that require a API or client key to access.  A lot of times you can use a particular voice say for an example 'Jane' in the 'Microsoft Azure' tab might work fine one day.  Then the next day all you get is a beep with no explanation.  This happens a lot with other voices as well.  Even with entire tabs like 'IBM Watson' as an example.  It is very frustrating to use when you are up against the clock.

you must be talking about a different program, because none of what you describe applies to balabolka. balabolka is the best tts app anyway, people will figure that out without the need for reviews like this, just test it against the others and you will see

I have the same issues. Never had a problem, now I can't get it to work. That's why I'm here, looking for an alternative. None of these are good, though

Panopreter is no longer free. It's good software but there are still free options out there - try "Convert text to speech" from the Microsoft Store. Basic but really is free.
