Simple process:
1 install kindle 1.17 (wayback machine)
2 register
3 close kindle 1.17
4 unplug network cable
5 install kindle 1.24
6 insert network cable
- The 1.24 install goes right over the 1.17 install.
- No reboot necessary.
- 1.24 is probably always looking for an update at startup even if the option to update is not selected.
- Best to start 1.24 with the network disconnected.
