So definitively KCR is not working neither with Kindle App neither with Cloud Reader.
I downloaded latest KCR and using without license

I have Mac Catilina fully updated with latest Kindle reader.
When you load a book to Kindle, Kindle download it, so you have full access to the book and in theory you should be able to remove the DRM
