Part 1. Download & Install
Double-click the setup (.exe or .pkg) file. Then follow the instructions on your screen to finish the installation process.

If you encounter a security notification on your Mac, this is due to default security preferences that only allow installation of apps from the Mac App store and identified developers. To fix this issue, follow the simple steps outlined below:
Click "Ok" to close this error message first.
Then go to System Preferences>Security & Privacy. On the General tab, click "Open Anyway". Finally click "Open" to start the installation in the new prompted window.
Part 2. Free Trial & Register & Update & Uninstall
1. Free Trial
After launching the Kindle converter, if you want to continue with the free trial version, just close the registration window. Or if you want to enjoy the full features, please just buy the licensed version.

Limitation: You are allowed to convert a total of 3 Kindle books for free. To back up all your Kindle books, you should upgrade your Epubor Kindle Converter to licensed version.
2. Register
To register Epubor Kindle Converter and unlock its full functionality, you will need to purchase a license for the software.

Once you have completed the purchase, you will receive a confirmation email that contains your order information. Cllick the yellow key icon at the top-right corner to pop up the registration widnow, and then input your licensed email and license code into the program to register it.
After you register Epubor Kindle Converter with your license successfully, you will break trial limits to convert all your downloaded kindle books at one-click.
3. Update
When a new version is released, a notification will appear in the bottom-right corner, as shown in the picture below. To update Epubor Kindle Converter, simply click on the version number and download the latest version to your computer.
4. Uninstall
On Wins:
On your desktop, right-click the icon of Epubor Kindle Converter>> Open file location >> scroll the mouse to find the uninstall.exe file > double-click the uninstall.exe file to uninstall the software from your computer.
On Mac:
Open Finder >> Applications >> find Epubor Kindle Converter>> right-click it >> choose Move to Trash.
Part 3. How to Use Epubor Kindle Converter on Windows

Step 1. Download and Install Android Simulator
Download Android Sumulator--LDPLAYER9 and install it on your Windows.
Download LDPLAYER9 from its offical website
Then click Settings icon at the top-right corner >>Other settings>>Enable "Root permission" and choose "Open remote connection" for ADB debugging.
Finally click on "Save settings". A new window will prompt, asking whether you would like to restart LDplayer. Click on " Restart now" button to restart this Android simulator.
Note: Please ensure that you restart the Android simulator before proceeding with the following steps.
Step 2. Install Kindle for Android on the Simulator
Important notice
Please ensure that you download Kindle APK version 4.16. If you have installed a Kindle APK version higher than 4.16, you may not be able to locate the Kindle books in Kindle Converter later, even if you have downloaded them
After launching Android simulator again, download and install Kindle apk to your Windows computer and the drag it to your Android simulator.
Download Kindle APK version 4.16 here
The kindle for Android APK will be transferred to Android simulator and installed automatically.
Step 3. Download Kindle books to Android simulator
Click the Kindle icon on Android simulator to launch it, then click on "Start Reading" button, and sign in with your Amazon account. Once signed in, click "All items" to show all books in your Kindle library.
Click the book cover to download your kindle books.
Now you've downloaded the kindle books successfully. Please note that even the books published in 2023 can be downloaded in this way.
Step 4. Convert kindle books to drm-free pdf, epub, azw3, text or docx
Launch Epubor Kindle Converter. If you still have not installed it, please download and install it now.
Your downloaded Kindle books will be detected and listed on the left side.
Cannot find Kindle books in "The Kindle Library"
- Solution 1: Please ensure you root the Android emulator and restart the Android emulator.
- Solution 2: Please ensure you are installing Kindle for APK 4.16. If not, please uninstall it, download Kindle for Android version 4.16 and install it again.
- Solution 3: Please don't try to add your kindle books downloaded via kindle for pc to your Kindle converter. It will not load your books from Kindle for PC library.
- Solution 4: Finally, restart the Android Simulator and Kindle Converter, then click on "Refresh" button again.
Simply drag them to the right side. Then, click the down arrow icon next to the "Convert to XX" button to reveal more output options. Select the one you need and click on "Convert to XX" to initiate the conversion.
Once the conversion process is completed, the "✓" will appear at the end of the book title. To explore the converted drm-free kindle books, you can click the "Open" in the top area.
Part 4. How to use Kindle Converter on Mac (Intel Chip)
Note: This method is applied to Mac with Intel chip. If you are using Mac with M1/M2 chip, please read how to use Kindle converter on Mac with M1/M2 chip.
Step 1. Download and install the Android Emulator --Google Android Studio to your Mac.

Step 2. Install Google Android Studio and create an Android device.
1 Install Google Android studio.
Follow your on-screen instructions to install Android studio on your Mac computer.
2 create Android device on Google Android emulator.
On Android studio welcome page, click "Actions">>"Virtual Device Manager">>"Create Device".
Then select hardware for the Android device. Please choose " Medium Phone" from the "Phone". Then click "Next."
Then select the image for the Android device. Please ensure you choose "Android 9.0(Google APIs)" from "X86 Images" tab. You will need to click the "Download" arrow next to the release name to download the image first, and then click on "Next" to finish the installation.
Note: The only Android image you can choose is "Android 9.0(Google APIs)". If you select other images, the Kindle for Android APK cannot be installed.
Once finished, you will be redirected to the main interface of the "Device Manager." Click the play button to launch the Android device.
Step 3. Install Kindle for Android on Android simulator.
Download Kindle for Android version 4.16 and then drag it to the Android simulator to install it.

1. Can I install other versions of Kindle for Android? No, you cannot. The only Kindle for Android version you can use is Kindle for Android 4.16. Please click the button above to download the correct Kindle for Android.
2. After the installing, I cannot see the Kindle on the homepage of the Android device? In some Android device models, the Kindle icon will not display on the home page. In such cases, try clicking and holding the mouse, then swipe from the bottom to the top to reveal all installed apps. You should be able to locate the Kindle app there.
Step 4. Download Kindle books.
Launch Kindle for Android and sign in with your Amazon account. Please type in your account email and password. Note that the copy and paste function is disabled.
After logging to Kindle, click the book cover to download your kindle books, including the books published in 2023.
Step 5. Decrypt and convert kindle books.
Launch Epubor Kindle Converter, and click "Refresh" button to display all your downloaded kindle books in the left side. Then drag them to the right side and choose your target output format by clicking the down arrow icon at the central bottom. Then click "Convert to XX" to start the conversion.
Once the books have been successfully converted, you can click the "Open" button located at the top corner to open the folder where all the converted Kindle books are stored.
Tip:
You only need to configure the Android simulator once. After that, you can simply use it without the need to repeat the configuration process.
Part 5. How to use Kindle Converter on Mac (M1/M2 Chip)
To use Kindle Converter on a Mac with an M1 or M2 chip, you need to install Google Android Studio to assist you in downloading Kindle books. Follow the steps below carefully to successfully convert your Kindle books to EPUB, PDF, or AZW3 formats.
Step 1. Install Google Android Studio.
Download Android Studio Hedgehog | 2023.1.1 for Mac (Apple Silicon) from here
Then double click the downloaded installation package and follow the on-screen instructions to install it on your Mac. Choose Standard as the setup type and click Next.
Then, select Accept to accept the Terms and Conditions and click Finish.
Finally, the setup process will continue and complete within a few seconds. Once finished, you'll be ready to install the first Android emulator.
Step 2. Install Android emulator.
Then you'll see the welcome page. Click "More Actions" and choose "Virtual Device Manager" in the drop-down menu.
Then click "Create device" button in the new window.
Then configure your virtual device. You can choose any device from the "Phone" or "Tablet" options. Then click "Next."
Note: Please ensure you choose exactly the same image as we recommended. If you choose the wrong image, you will fail to install kindle for Android on it later.
Then select the Android system image for your emulator. Click "Other Images" tab, scroll down to find the correct image:

You need to download the image first, click the "Download arrow" to download the image first and install it.
Once finished, you will see your Android Virtual device configuration in the new windows, and just click on "Finish" button.
You'll go back to "Device Manager" window, here click "Play" button to launch the Android emulator.
It may take a few minutes to launch the Android emulator, so please allow it some time and wait patiently.
If any warning message pops up reminding you that "Running an x86 based Android Virtual Device(avd) is 10X faster", please just check "Never show this again" and click on "ok" button.
Step 3: Install kindle for android on Android studio.
Download Kindle APK version 4.16 here
Download the Kindle for Android from the above button and then drag & drop this apk to your Android emulator.
Important Note:
This process will take a few minutes. Please wait patiently.
Once Kindle for Android has been installed successfully, you will go back to home screen of your Android virtual machine. And you may not find the Kindle app on the home screen. To find it, please click "Get to all your apps" button.
Click the kindle app to launch it, then login to it with your Amazon credentials.
Note: You cannot use your Mac keyboard to fill in the Amazon credentials. Please just use the prompted key boards on the Android virtual machine to fill in the Amazon account and passwords otherwise the Android emulator will quit unexpectedly, and you'll restart it again and repeat the login process.
Step 4: Download Kindle books.
Now you login to your Kindle app. To download the kindle books, just click the book cover.
Step 5: Remove kindle drm and convert kindle to epub, pdf, azw3 and more format.
Now launch Epubor Kindle Converter. Click on "Refresh" to load your downloaded kindle books. Then drag and drop the books to right column, then click "Convert to epub" to convert kindle books to drm-free pdf

You don't need to change the path. Kindle Converter is a different software, don't use it with the Kindle app for PC and Epubor Ultimate.
What you should do is to ensure that you enable the "Root permission" of LDPlayer9, and restart it to take effect. Then run again Kindle Converter, and wait for your downloaded books show under the "The Kindle Library". You can try to reinstall LDPlayer9 and Kindle apk, and configure the settings by following the user guide.

After launching the software, the left side of the screen shows the name of the downloaded Kindle file.
How can I prevent these files from appearing on the screen? I have pressed the [Refresh] button many times and they have not disappeared.

It allows you to search for the book you want to decrypt and delete the files from the left pane in Kindle Converter. But don't run the Android emulator when you delete the files, if you want to delete the files permanently from the left pane, please delete the downloaded books in the Kindle app for Android inside the Android emulator.

Got Android Studio installed on my Windows 11 computer. I used this one because LDPLAYER9 was doing something that my virus software and malware software didn't like. Set up the 5.1_WVGA_API_23 device just fine. Ran it. No problem. Dropped the APK onto it and it started to install. Got the error message ISTALL_FAILED_NO_MATCHING_ABIS. Any ideas how to get around this? Do I need to set up a different virtual device since I am on a windows machine?

Then restart the Android emulator and redownload your Kindle books. Go to the Kindle Converter and click "Refresh" to see if all of your 11 books are listed correctly.

I did that several times. Yes, it's the correct version 4.16 and yes, I enabled root on the emulator.

please note you can only install the older kindle for android 4.16, the new version is not supported.

However, after following all of the instructions, I still cannot remove it. I can use the new software for existing books (which I could have done without purchasing the new software) but when I try to download the book in question, it tells me that I need a newer version of Kindle software to download the book. The book is a Pearson e-textbook. What can I do?? If your new software cannot do the job, then I would like to request a refund.
I cannot download book. The error provided by the Kindle app in the emulator states:
"Book not available on this app version"
"You are using an unsupported version of Kindle for Android. To read this book, please update to the latest version from your preferred Android app store."

The method using LDplayer9 on windows 10 works properly (tested several time).
All the books downloaded in the kindle app running in LD9 player player (+ all the necessary configuration steps described in the page : root permission, etc...) are afterthat visible in Epubor Kindle Converter (latest version used).
However, I observe now that for some books (bought recently), the conversion in epub, pdf... is systematically unsuccessfull : conversion process is blocked (several attemps done for the same books).
This issue happens in conversion batches where other kindle books are converted, on their side, without any issue...
Is-it a knwon issue ?
